On the 16th, Choi Jin-sik, Chairman of the Korea Federation of Medium-sized Enterprises, stated at the '188th Medium-sized Enterprise CEO Luncheon Lecture' hosted by the Federation with Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Tae-yeol as the guest, "If the government's diplomacy paves broad paths between countries, it is the inherent role and mission of companies to drive mutual development based on mutual benefits through the flow of goods and people."

Chairman Choi emphasized, "Although we have painfully overcome the horrors of the 20th century caused by two world wars, wars are still ongoing in various parts of the world, and concerns about a greater war looming are spreading. Reducing conflicts, sending people for peace and prosperity, opening channels for dialogue, and proposing and discussing ways to live well together are precisely the roles and important responsibilities of diplomacy."

Prior to the luncheon lecture, the Federation signed a 'Memorandum of Understanding for Supporting the Expansion of Overseas Advancement of Medium-sized Enterprises' with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Federation and the Ministry plan to open communication channels to share the status of global expansion and local information of medium-sized enterprises and to further strengthen cooperation between medium-sized enterprises and overseas diplomatic missions to effectively support their overseas advancement.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Tae-yeol, in his lecture titled 'Direction of South Korea's Foreign Policy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Support Measures for the Global Advancement of Medium-sized Enterprises,' said, "Our government is doing its best to realize the vision of becoming a global pivotal state by actively protecting national interests without succumbing to geopolitical fate and contributing to freedom, peace, and prosperity in the international community."

Minister Cho stated, "We will utilize 171 overseas diplomatic missions as forward bases for exports and orders to support the overseas advancement of our medium-sized enterprises. As the only government ministry that handles both security and economy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will strengthen communication with companies and related organizations, including economic groups such as the Federation."

Chairman Choi said, "In a situation where domestic and international uncertainties are greater than ever, we will actively communicate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other government ministries based on the consensus of medium-sized enterprises so that the government and the private sector can join forces to open new possibilities."
