Lee Jeongbok, President of Korea Western Power, visited the Gunsan Power Plant Headquarters on the 15th to inspect the current status of safety management and encourage on-site workers.

The Gunsan Power Plant Headquarters is a natural gas combined cycle power plant with a facility capacity of 718.4 megawatts (MW, based on combined cycle power generation), located on Guam-ro, Gunsan-si, Jeollabuk-do.

The total facility capacity, including solar power (18.25MW), wind power (34MW), and fuel cells (32.56MW), amounts to 803.21MW.

President Lee began his on-site safety management initiatives by inspecting the Taean Power Plant Headquarters as his first official activity at the end of last month.

After attending the National Assembly's Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs, and Startups Committee audit on the 14th, he continued his safety management efforts by visiting the Gunsan Power Plant Headquarters on the following day, the 15th.

President Lee toured the power generation site, received reports on facility operation status, major accident prevention safety activities, and safety measures.

He also expressed his gratitude to both Korea Western Power employees and partner company staff for their efforts in ensuring stable facility operation and listened to their concerns.

President Lee plans to continue his on-site safety management by sequentially visiting the Pyeongtaek, Seo-Incheon, and Gimpo Power Plant Headquarters, as well as the Gumi and Gongju Construction Headquarters.

President Lee stated, "There should be no boundaries between Korea Western Power and its partner companies when it comes to safety," and urged, "Please maintain thorough safety management by prioritizing safety over speed during on-site work."

He added, "Let us continue to build the reputation of being a 'power plant trusted by the local community' by regularly disclosing environmental data to the public through local consultative bodies and other means."
