The Shin Young-kyun Arts and Culture Foundation (Chairman Ahn Sung-ki) announced on the 16th that actor Hwang Jung-min, Shin Min-a, and Kim Dong-ho, the inaugural executive chairman of the Busan International Film Festival, have been selected for the 14th Beautiful Artist Awards. This year's ceremony will be held on the 24th at Stage28 in Godeok-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul.
Hwang Jung-min, selected as the recipient of the Film Artist Award, began his acting career with the film Janggun-ui Adeul (The General's Son) (1990) and appeared in Gukjesijang (International Market) (2014), Veteran 1 & 2 (2015, 2014), and Gokseong (The Wailing) (2016). Last year, he was loved for leading Seoul-ui Bom (Spring in Seoul), which attracted 10 million viewers. In the theater category, director Son Jin-chaek, who directed Hanne-ui Seungcheon, Jikimi, Ojanggun-ui Baltop, and Hamlet, was selected.
Kim Dong-ho, selected for the Lifetime Achievement Artist Award, served as Vice Minister of Culture and was the inaugural executive chairman of the Busan International Film Festival. Shin Min-a was awarded the Good People Artist Award, given to celebrities known for their good deeds, and director Kim Deok-young, who made the documentary film Geonguk Jeonjaeng (The Founding War), was selected as the recipient of the Independent Film Artist Award.
