Request for Concrete Achievements and Accelerated Progress in the Second Half of the 8th Minseon Administration
Yangsan City in Gyeongnam Province has been holding the ‘2025 Major Work Plan Report Meeting’ from the 14th to the 24th to achieve concrete results in key projects during the second half of the 8th term of the elected government and to accelerate the promotion of pending projects.
Presided over by Mayor Na Dong-yeon, the major work plan report meeting was attended by all senior officials and team leaders of Yangsan City, where each department focused on reviewing and discussing the core pending projects for 2025.
At this meeting, amid difficult domestic and international economic conditions such as high inflation, high interest rates, and economic recession, the direction for next year’s work was set with the activation of the people’s livelihood economy as the top priority of city administration. A total of 515 projects submitted as major work plans were reviewed in detail for feasibility, effectiveness, and budget securing measures in connection with the 2025 budget formulation.
The city’s major core projects for next year include ▲construction of Yangsan Culture and Arts Center ▲Yangsan Urban Railway construction project ▲Yongdang Historic District Cultural Tourism Belt development project ▲promotion of Yangsan Jeungsan District urban development project ▲installation of Nam Mulgeum Hi-Pass IC ▲upgrade of Route 1028 to a national highway ▲Nakdong Sunset Bike Park project ▲installation of Yangsan City comprehensive funeral facility ▲resource recovery facility modernization project ▲Hwangsan Park complex leisure project ▲creation of Yangsan Arboretum ▲development of Ungsang Central Park ▲construction of Comprehensive Welfare Hub Town, etc. The city requested all employees to work with a sense of mission and a proactive attitude to ensure smooth progress of related preliminary procedures and budget securing.
Additionally, major new projects discussed included ▲promotion of the 2026 Yangsan Visit Year ▲construction of Yangsan City Art Museum ▲leading project for spatial innovation zone at Pusan National University Yangsan Campus ▲establishment of basic plan for aging planned city maintenance ▲support for isolated and reclusive youth ▲Green New Deal undergrounding project at Deokgye Elementary School ▲establishment of basic plan for carbon neutrality and green growth ▲creation of children’s playground facilities at Hwangsan Park ▲development of Daewoonsan Barrier-Free Sharing Trail ▲creation of Bukbucheon Street Forest Trail ▲school facility complex project at Seokgeumsan Middle School ▲construction of smart education center for farmers ▲expansion of Ungsang Health Branch ▲construction of light line along Hoeya River and cultural-historical space under the bridge ▲Hoeya 3 District river disaster prevention project.
With the second half of the 8th term of the elected government beginning next year, the city plans to fully focus on accelerating key and pending projects so that citizens can feel the changes and achievements.
Mayor Na Dong-yeon urged, “Since the financial situation will be difficult next year, I hope each department carefully prioritizes projects based on urgency and importance, firmly sets priorities, and actively carries out their responsibilities.”
