Former announcer and broadcaster Choi Dong-seok opened up about the mutual adultery lawsuits with his spouse Park Ji-yoon.

Choi Dong-seok appeared on TV Chosun's variety show 'Now I'm Alone' aired on the 15th, where he met actor Jeon No-min and discussed the ongoing adultery lawsuits. He said, "Actually, I prepared the complaint early in the divorce process, but I didn't file it because once the complaint is submitted, there would inevitably be talk and it might get noisy." He added, "The other party misunderstood someone I know and filed a lawsuit, and because of this, even the lawyers advised me to file a complaint."

He continued, "It feels unfair from my perspective to be labeled as the adulterer, and I was upset and angry wondering why they would deliberately make such a lawsuit to cause a fuss." He mentioned the reason for responding with a mutual lawsuit against Park Ji-yoon, saying, "I thought I shouldn't just stay silent while bearing this stigma." He also explained the situation at the time, saying, "Rationally, I knew there was nothing to gain, but my emotions boiled over, and I thought, 'Why should I be the only one to stay quiet and endure?' My emotions took over."

He added, "Honestly, this (the mutual adultery lawsuit) is harder than the divorce lawsuit," and described it as "feeling like hitting rock bottom." Furthermore, he said, "I don't want to go all the way. I regret it a lot," and "Whether the other party proceeds or not, I want to withdraw the lawsuit I filed. This will be the first step to untangling this mess." Finally, in response to Jeon No-min's question about whether he had anything to say to Park Ji-yoon, he replied, "I'm sorry," and said, "Anyway, since we lived together and are now separating, she is going through things I hope she wouldn't have to experience, so I want to say sorry the most."

Meanwhile, Park Ji-yoon and Choi Dong-seok, who both joined KBS as announcers in the 30th class, married in November 2009 and have one son and one daughter. They announced their separation last October after 14 years of marriage and filed mutual adultery-related compensation lawsuits during the ongoing divorce proceedings. Previously, Park Ji-yoon claimed in an interview with the media, "Despite feeling wronged because of the children, I couldn't respond," and stated, "I have never committed adultery or any immoral acts during the marriage. Both my ex-spouse and my acquaintances know that I could not have had an affair with that person."
