DeepMind Platform (hereinafter DeepMind) announced on the 16th that it will carry out the ‘K-Sky Zone’ project in collaboration with the Korea Tourism Evaluation Institute.
The ‘K-Sky Zone’ project was created to foster the domestic tourism industry. Foreign tourists can use DeepMind’s artificial intelligence (AI) drones to capture the sky and over 1,000 tourist attractions across Korea.
A DeepMind representative said, “With an innovative approach combining cutting-edge drones and AI technology, we can film Korea’s landmarks, providing foreign tourists with a special experience,” adding, “We expect DeepMind’s AI drones to contribute to revitalizing the domestic tourism business through this project.”
‘K-Sky Zone’ offers tourists more than just a simple filming service; it allows them to capture photos of over 1,000 representative tourist attractions selected by the Korea Tourism Evaluation Institute, including Gyeongbokgung Palace, Insadong, and Bulguksa Temple, through AI drone photography. Tourists can enjoy convenient filming services while capturing the beautiful scenery of tourist spots from various angles and perspectives.
Photos taken by drones in the ‘K-Sky Zone’ not only capture natural landscapes and historical beauty but also provide a unique aerial perspective. The stunning sky photos taken by drones offer tourists an unforgettable experience and are evaluated as capable of imprinting a new image of Korean tourism.
The core of this project lies in DeepMind’s AI technology. DeepMind’s AI automatically optimizes the drone’s shooting routes and provides tourists with high-quality photo results through correction technology.
A representative from the Korea Tourism Evaluation Institute emphasized, “The K-Sky Zone filming service using DeepMind’s AI drones is an attractive means to promote Korea’s rich cultural heritage and beautiful nature to global tourists,” and added, “We expect it to play a significant role in strengthening the attraction of foreign tourists and globalizing Korea’s tourism industry.”
Industry insiders said, “If the influx of foreign tourists increases through the K-Sky Zone project, it will invigorate various related industries such as accommodation, food, and transportation,” and added, “This is expected to lead to job creation and regional economic revitalization, contributing to the growth of Korea’s tourism industry.”
Meanwhile, the Korea Tourism Evaluation Institute is a corporation established to globalize Korean tourism in cooperation with public institutions and local governments. It supports the establishment of government tourism promotion policies and plays a role in proposing development and policy alternatives for the domestic tourism industry.
