At the Gwangju Shinsegae Gallery, a solo exhibition titled "Gaps in Time" by the Grand Prize-winning artist of last year's Gwangju Shinsegae Art Festival, Gu Nam Collective (Gu Hye-young and Kim Young-nam), will be held until the 29th. The exhibition space is divided into three areas, featuring installations such as a bed and a phone booth, creating a setting like a woman's room called "Her Time," along with a media art piece titled "Gaps in Time" displayed inside the room.
At the Centum City branch, from the 26th until the 24th of next month, an exhibition titled "Gaze: Perspectives from Three Directions" will highlight young Busan artists Noh In-woo, Kim Do-yeon, and Kim Yu-rim. Additionally, Daegu Shinsegae will host the fourth exhibition of the Shinsegae Gallery's abstract art series "Chusang Yuhee" (抽象遊) with artists Cha Gye-nam and Casper Kang, continuing the tradition since 2019.
Since the first Gwangju Shinsegae Art Festival in 1996, Shinsegae Department Store has introduced 200 artists from the Gwangju, Busan, and Daegu regions to the public over 25 years. A representative from Shinsegae Gallery stated, "Shinsegae continues to support local artists in Gwangju, Busan, and Daegu to promote regional cultural and artistic development," adding, "We will continue to strive to support ongoing cultural and artistic activities for the advancement of regional culture and arts."
