Joo Gwang-deok, Mayor of Namyangju City, is giving a greeting at the opening ceremony of the 'Together Care Center Branch No. 11' on the 15th. Gyeonggi Namyangju City (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) held an opening ceremony on the 15th for the 11th Dahamkke Care Center, established to address the gap in elementary school childcare in the original downtown area of Jinjeop-eup.
About 50 people attended the opening ceremony, including Mayor Joo Gwang-deok of Namyangju City, Lee Kyung-sook, Chairperson of the Welfare and Environment Committee of Namyangju City Council, provincial council members, city council members, and representatives from the operating corporation.
To strengthen the local child care system, the city signed a consignment agreement last December with the Korea Presbyterian Welfare Foundation of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Korea (CEO Kim Jeong-ho) and established the 11th Dahamkke Care Center within the Canaan Church in Jinjeop-eup.
Opened in April, the 11th Dahamkke Care Center offers various childcare services for 20 elementary school students, including △ homework guidance △ reading △ physical activities △ creativity programs, creating an environment where parents can raise their children and work with peace of mind.
Mayor Joo Gwang-deok of Namyangju City said, “We thank Canaan Church for providing this valuable space for the children in the original downtown area of Jinjeop-eup, and we hope this care center becomes a happiness base camp for the children.” He added, “The city will do its best to establish a voluntary and proactive child care culture centered on the local community.”
Namyangju City currently operates 13 Dahamkke Care Centers and 4 Sangsang Nuriter facilities to strengthen village-centered child care infrastructure. Any elementary school student (ages 6 to 12) in need of care can use these services regardless of their parents’ income level.
