'K-pop Evangelist' 12-Year-Old Cambodian Princess, Idol Debut in Korea?

Princess Norodom Jenna Joins Local Agency

Could a K-pop idol from Cambodia's 'royal family' be born?

On the 14th (local time), Taiwanese media 'Sanli News Network' and other foreign outlets reported that Princess Norodom Jenna (12) of Cambodia is considering going to South Korea to debut as an idol. Princess Jenna is said to be affiliated with 'K've Entertainment,' a Korean entertainment agency headquartered in Cambodia since 2022.

Princess Jenna's 'love for K-pop' is already well known locally. In an interview with YTN last year, she expressed her passion by saying, "I love all K-pop songs and dances," and "I want to become a K-pop ambassador in the future."

Na Yoon-jung, CEO of K've Entertainment, also revealed that Princess Jenna has already attended corporate events and has expressed her intention to 'collaborate' with the company.

CEO Na emphasized, "Princess Jenna possesses great potential and talent," adding, "Her dance skills surpass not only traditional Cambodian dance but also K-pop." She further noted, "Despite a busy schedule, Princess Norodom quickly acquires skills and is dedicated."

Princess Jenna is already active on the local entertainment stage. She has appeared on the 'Khmer TV' show and released a song titled "You Da One" in 2022. Earlier this year, she starred in the Cambodian horror film "The Night Curse of Reatrei," through which she won the Best New Actress award at the 2nd Cambodia Asia Film Festival.

Meanwhile, Princess Norodom Jenna was born in 2012 to Princess Norodom Bophary of the Cambodian royal family and a French father. Although her birthplace is Paris, France, she moved to Cambodia with her family around the age of three and joined the royal family. Due to this background, she is known to be fluent in several languages, including her native Khmer (Cambodian), Thai, Chinese, and French.
