Introducing new products launched on the 15th in the distribution industry. Haitai Confectionery is holding a customer appreciation event to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its popular potato chip, Honey Butter Chip. Ottogi has released an instant rice product called 'Suhyangmi Brown Rice' made from Suhyangmi, the representative rice of Hwaseong City, Gyeonggi Province. Pulmuone is the first in the domestic beverage industry to introduce containers made from 100% chemically recycled plastic for all 13 products of its premium fresh fruit juice brand 'I'm Real.' Convenience store CU has launched collaboration products 'Twinzy Macaron' and 'Twinzy Jelly' in line with the comeback schedule of the group ITZY. To welcome the reading season of autumn, the Seoul Shilla Hotel is also offering a 'Bookcance (Book + Vacation)' package.

Haitai Confectionery’s Honey Butter Chip has exceeded cumulative sales of 550 billion KRW ten years after its launch. Released in August 2014, the product caused a shortage within two months and has grown into a mega brand with annual sales exceeding 50 billion KRW as of September this year. In terms of sales volume, 360 million bags have been sold, which means an average of 7 bags per person nationwide. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Honey Butter Chip is actively expanding beyond Korea into overseas markets. Starting with Asian markets such as China, Japan, and Vietnam, exports have significantly increased to over 20 countries worldwide, including the United States, Canada, Australia, the Middle East, and Europe. To commemorate the 10th anniversary, Haitai Confectionery is launching a large-size product with 10% more content. Additionally, customers who leave congratulatory comments on 'Herby,' the Honey Butter Chip character’s Instagram, will be selected weekly?25 people per week, totaling 100 people throughout October?to receive a large-size 10th-anniversary Honey Butter Chip box. Furthermore, customers who share interesting episodes related to the Honey Butter Chip shortage from 10 years ago will be entered into a draw to win large-size Honey Butter Chip products. Participants in the 10th-anniversary quiz event will also have a chance to receive specially made bee costumes for pets as exclusive merchandise.


Ottogi Launches Premium Mixed Grain Rice 'Suhyangmi Brown Rice'

The Suhyangmi used in Ottogi’s new instant rice product, Suhyangmi Brown Rice, is a patented variety produced exclusively in Hwaseong City, Gyeonggi Province, known for its fresh and savory scorched rice aroma and chewy texture. After launching the first Suhyangmi instant rice, 'Suhyangmi Rice,' in March last year, Ottogi introduced the second version, Suhyangmi Brown Rice, which has gained great popularity through online shopping channels. Suhyangmi Brown Rice blends Suhyangmi white rice, full of savory aroma, and Suhyangmi brown rice, which retains the nutrition of the rice germ, in a 5:5 ratio. The company explains that with simple microwave heating, consumers can enjoy the freshly cooked rice aroma and chewy texture as if it were just made. Ottogi initially launched Suhyangmi Brown Rice exclusively through GS SHOP and plans to officially sell it through Ottogi’s online channels later this month.


Pulmuone Introduces First Chemically Recycled Plastic Containers in Beverage Industry

Pulmuone’s 'I'm Real' is the first beverage product to use containers made from 100% chemically recycled plastic. Chemical recycling is a method that chemically breaks down plastic into raw material form, unlike physical recycling which involves washing and grinding plastic into pellets. This technology has a high recycling rate and contributes to resource circulation, gaining attention recently as an advanced plastic recycling method. The 100% chemically recycled plastic containers introduced for I'm Real are applied to all products produced at Pulmuone’s Doan plant in Chungbuk. The company plans to expand this application to other product lines in the future. Pulmuone expects that by adopting 100% chemically recycled plastic, it can reduce the use of new plastic by 259 tons annually.


"ITZY is at CU"… Collaboration Campaign

CU’s collaboration product, Twinzy, is a character representing the five members of ITZY as cute cats. CU is sequentially releasing Twinzy Macaron and Twinzy Jelly, featuring five colors and flavors such as mint chocolate and strawberry. Each product includes Twinzy stickers to increase fans’ desire to collect them. Along with the product launch, the 'ITZY at CU' online and offline linked campaign is underway. The offline pop-up event runs until the 28th at CU Olympic Plaza, CU Hongdae Sangsang, and CU Sinchon Le Meilleur stores. Visitors to these stores can take photos with ITZY mini acrylic standees and Twinzy dolls at the event site and upload proof of purchase of collaboration products on social media. The new web variety show 'Meet on Wednesday,' airing on the 23rd, features all five ITZY members making macarons and jelly, interacting with their fans called 'MIDZY.' Fans can participate in a comment event on CU’s official YouTube and Instagram from the day of the video release until the end of the month. Other campaigns this month include Instagram story events using ITZY’s new song, a Pocket CU stamp event for purchasers, and more. Participants have a chance to win limited edition goods such as ITZY signed albums, signed bromides, signed Polaroids, and CU mobile gift certificates through a draw.


Seoul Shilla Hotel’s 'Bookcance' Package

Seoul Shilla Hotel announced the launch of the 'Blind Date with a Book' package, a bookcance package created in collaboration with the independent bookstore 'Eojjeoda Chaekbang,' which specializes in book curation. For the Seoul Shilla Hotel’s bookcance, Eojjeoda Chaekbang curated 10 books based on three themes: 'City,' 'Art,' and 'Walk.' The hotel randomly gives two of these books to package customers. Guests using the bookcance package can enjoy leisurely and peaceful reading not only in their rooms but also in the outdoor garden of the Octagonal Pavilion with beautiful scenery and fresh air, as well as on walking trails along the fortress wall. For guests who prefer private reading in their rooms, a snack kit consisting of snacks and beer is also provided. The Blind Date with a Book bookcance package includes one night’s accommodation, two specially curated books, a 10% discount coupon for Eojjeoda Chaekbang, an in-room minibar snack kit, and access to the fitness center and indoor swimming pool. The package is available until November 30.
