Unitrontech Selected as Lead Institution for National Project on SDM Platform Software Development

Unitrontech announced on the 15th that it has been selected as the lead organization for the new project 'Development of SDM Platform Central Control Infrastructure Software and Service-Oriented Cloud Platform' under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's 'Development of SDM Platform for Construction Machinery Digital Solutions.'

The SDM platform aims to extend the SDV (Software Defined Vehicle) concept introduced in the automotive industry to construction machinery, transforming the existing hardware-centered system into a software-based system.

Unitrontech plans to develop cloud-based central control infrastructure software with the goal of developing an 'SDM platform' for autonomous driving, autonomous operation, and digitalization of construction machinery. It is expected to enhance work efficiency and safety by providing various functions such as real-time data exchange, over-the-air (OTA) updates, and autonomous operation support.

Construction machinery will be able to update software (SW) to add or improve new functions and will have the ability to flexibly respond to various work environments. Autonomous driving and autonomous operation functions are evaluated as important technologies that can significantly improve productivity at construction sites and ensure worker safety.
