'Kim Yu-jeong Literary Award' to be integrated with 'Writer Award' from this year
Writing contest, academic conference, talk concert... also experience letterpress printing
Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Chuncheon City (Mayor Yuk Dong-han) announced on the 15th that the Kim Yu-jeong Literature Village will hold the ‘2024 Kim Yu-jeong Literature Festival’ from the 17th to the 19th.
This literature festival will focus on expanding the role of the Kim Yu-jeong Literature Village as a public literary museum and will present various literary contents and experiential programs.
On the first day, the 17th, the 32nd Kim Yu-jeong Writing Contest and a talk concert titled ‘Cross x Literature and Film’ will be held, focusing on literature and movies.
On the second day, the 18th Kim Yu-jeong Literary Award ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. in the outdoor performance hall. Starting this year’s award, the Chuncheon Cultural Foundation will integrate the Kim Yu-jeong Writer Award, established and operated since 2021, thereby resolving the conflicts surrounding the Kim Yu-jeong Literary Award over the past four years and creating a harmonious occasion to further enhance the prestige of the Kim Yu-jeong Literary Award.
On the last day, the 16th Kim Yu-jeong Academic Conference and the 4th Kim Yu-jeong Academic Award ceremony will be held. Along with these, various programs such as letterpress printing experience, urban sketching experience, and jazz and classical music performances will be prepared, allowing visitors to enjoy literature and art simultaneously.
A Chuncheon City official said, “Through the Kim Yu-jeong Literature Festival, we will strive to widely promote the literary spirit of writer Kim Yu-jeong and convey the value of Korean literature to more people.”
