Gyeongbuk Province and the I’m Bank Scholarship and Culture Foundation delivered scholarships totaling 60 million KRW to 100 children from large families at the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office on the 15th.
In 2019, Gyeongbuk Province signed a business agreement with the I’m Bank Scholarship and Culture Foundation to create a culture that favors large families, and through the foundation, it has supported a total of 570 students in the province with over 340 million KRW to date.
This year, Gyeongsangbuk-do and the foundation selected 100 outstanding students from large families in the province who study diligently despite difficult circumstances (44 middle school students, 34 high school students, and 22 university students), and presented scholarship certificates along with scholarships totaling 60 million KRW (400,000 KRW for middle school students, 600,000 KRW for high school students, and 1 million KRW for university students).
Hwang Byeong-woo, Chairman of the I’m Bank Scholarship and Culture Foundation, said, “I hope this scholarship will help the dreams and studies of students from large families even a little,” and added, “We will continue to invest in future generations and cooperate with Gyeongbuk Province to provide continuous support without hesitation.”
Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, stated, “The steady scholarship support from the I’m Bank Scholarship and Culture Foundation is a great help to large families in the province,” and said, “Gyeongsangbuk-do will reduce economic burdens through various support policies for large families and encourage additional births to win the war against low birth rates.”
Meanwhile, Gyeongbuk Province is striving to foster a culture that favors large families by expanding support for them through practical benefits such as providing ‘agricultural and marine product discount coupons,’ ‘medical expense support for households with three or more children,’ and ‘moving expense support.’
