HD Hyundai Heavy Industries announced on the 15th that it has signed a construction contract for two ultra-large ammonia carriers (VLAC) with a shipping company based in Oceania.
The contract amount is 339.6 billion KRW, and the two VLACs ordered this time are scheduled to be delivered by September 2027.

HD Hyundai's intermediate holding company for shipbuilding, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore, has secured a total of 169 vessels (including 1 offshore unit) worth 18.84 billion USD, including this order. This tentatively achieves 139.5% of the annual order target of 13.5 billion USD.
By ship type, the orders include ▲ 8 liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers ▲ 3 LNG bunkering vessels ▲ 62 petrochemical product carriers (PC vessels) ▲ 48 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and ammonia carriers ▲ 22 container ships ▲ 3 ethane carriers ▲ 2 liquefied carbon dioxide carriers ▲ 6 very large crude carriers (VLCC) ▲ 7 tankers ▲ 2 pure car and truck carriers (PCTC) ▲ 1 floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) ▲ 1 offshore unit ▲ 4 special purpose vessels.
