In the opening keynote speech, Yoonseop Choi, CEO of DHP, presented an introduction to DHP and its investment status, introducing DHP’s mission to “innovate healthcare through startup investment” and proposing the investment strategy called “10X Healthcare.” This strategy focuses on investing in startups with the potential to create healthcare that is ten times better than the current standard. CEO Choi emphasized that “investment returns will naturally follow when investing in innovative startups,” highlighting that the eight startups presenting at this Demo Day are the result of this investment strategy. He also identified aging, medical artificial intelligence (AI), and cognitive health improvement as recent mega trends in the healthcare market and stated that DHP will invest in startups seizing opportunities within these mega trends.
In the following keynote, Seungwook Baek, Chairman and founder of Lunit, gave a presentation titled “Lessons Learned from Founding Lunit.” He shared the story of Lunit, which was founded by six co-founders with no prior business experience under the mission “to conquer cancer with AI,” successfully went public, and continues to challenge the global healthcare market while maintaining an underdog spirit. Chairman Baek encouraged the younger startups gathered at the Demo Day to pursue global expansion, emphasizing that domestic healthcare startups must enter the global market.
