As the prayer for health and longevity echoed, the hall was filled with tears.


Dobong-gu (District Mayor Oh Eon-seok) held the 'Dobong-gu Senior Longevity Culture Festival' on the 8th at the 2nd-floor auditorium of Dobong-gu Office for seniors aged 90 and above in the area.


On this day, about 200 people, including over 150 seniors aged 90 and above, including 7 seniors aged 100 and above, and their families attended.


Also attending were Dobong-gu Mayor Oh Eon-seok, Shim Hyung-seop, President of the Korean Senior Citizens Association Dobong-gu Branch, Park Mi-jung, Director of Ssangmun-dong Senior Welfare Center, and others, who wished for the seniors' health and longevity.

Organized by Ssangmun-dong Senior Welfare Center, this festival was prepared to celebrate the seniors' longevity and to spend meaningful time with families who have devotedly cared for their parents.


The festival was divided into three parts: pre-ceremony performance, commemorative ceremony, and congratulatory performance. In the pre-ceremony performance, the winners of the 2024 Dobong-gu Senior Singing Contest and the residents' singing contest grand prize winner took the stage to enliven the atmosphere.


During the commemorative ceremony, the prayer for health and longevity was read aloud, followed by offerings and three bows. Finally, singer Jeon Ji-yeon took the stage to deliver a splendid performance.


A senior attending the festival shared, "Past memories flashed before my eyes like a revolving lantern. I am grateful for this meaningful event prepared with my family."


Dobong-gu Mayor Oh Eon-seok said, "Seeing the seniors smile brightly and rejoice was deeply moving. We will continue to do our best in organizing related events and promoting health projects so that seniors can live long and healthy lives in Dobong-gu."
