Top Prizes Awarded at Suyeong District Office... Professor Kim Jaehong (Millufe General Director) Recognized
Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) announced on the 14th that students from the Department of Industrial Design held a performance presentation and awards ceremony for cultural content development ideas in Suyeong-gu, Busan.
The Department of Industrial Design at Dong-A University is participating in the winter season light festival (Millak Luce Festa, Millupe) project as part of the "Cultural Content Development Project for the Revitalization of Millak Waterfront Park" promoted by Suyeong-gu, Busan.
For this purpose, Dong-A University and Suyeong-gu Office signed a memorandum of understanding last April and have been conducting industry-academia-government cooperation activities.
Kim Jae-hong, a professor in the Department of Industrial Design at Dong-A University, is serving as the general director of Millupe, and Kim Woo-saeng, deputy director of the LINC 3.0 Project Group, is serving as an advisor for Millupe.
With support from the LINC 3.0 Project Group (Director Choi Jeong-ho), the Department of Industrial Design at Dong-A University presented ideas for light festival branding, storytelling, lighting content, and promotional strategies through the "Communication Design" class (supervising professor Kim Jae-hong).
Third-year students majoring in Visual Media Design in the Department of Industrial Design, who participated in the class, were divided into eight teams and proposed eight planning ideas. A presentation was held on campus last June, and the awards ceremony was recently held at Suyeong-gu Office.
The grand prize was awarded to Team 1 (Lee Hyorim, Jang Hyunhee, Kim Nayeon, Kim Yunhyeon, Lee Yeoju, Lee Eunseo). The excellence awards went to Team 6 (Bae Jiwoong, Kim Sangwook, Eom Jiweon, Kim Gyuri, Song Yejin, Kim Jiyeong) and Team 7 (Lee Gayoun, Shin Eunbi, Park Yeonwoo, Lee Hyerim, Jeon Hyeryeong, Hwang Yeeun).
Team leader Lee Hyorim said, "By working on a project that closely resembled real-world planning and production of the festival, I was able to systematically and efficiently apply the theories I learned in class. I am happy that our team's ideas were well received after working hard through the night, and I hope many people enjoy the splendid lighting designs and events of Millak Luce Festa and create many fun memories."
Professor Kim Jae-hong said, "The light festival is a special project prepared by Dong-A University’s Department of Industrial Design students and Suyeong-gu Office to revitalize the local community. It is meaningful not only because it provides visual enjoyment but also because it creates a space for coexistence with local residents. As a result of combining the needs of the local community with the fresh ideas of students, it shows the potential for the community and academia to grow together in the future and will be an opportunity to further enrich local culture."
The Department of Industrial Design at Dong-A University is holding a performance presentation for cultural content development ideas in Suyeong-gu, Busan, and taking a commemorative photo.
