Students from the Department of Fire Safety Management at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Youngdo) recently operated an experience booth under the theme "If I Become Young-i or Woong-i" at the "2024 Busanjin-gu V-Energy Recharge Festival" held at Seomyeon Youth Street.
This volunteer activity, hosted by the Busanjin-gu Volunteer Center on the 24th of last month, was organized to share and spread a culture of giving by raising awareness among citizens about the importance of volunteering.
The festival was divided into Carbon Zero Zone, Disaster and Traffic Safety Zone, and Sharing Zone, allowing citizens to directly experience the values of environment, safety, and sharing in each zone.
Students from the Department of Fire Safety Management at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology participated in the Disaster and Traffic Safety Zone, preparing VR firefighter experiences and firefighter turnout gear wearing experiences.
In the firefighter turnout gear wearing experience, citizens could try on the actual gear worn by firefighters, allowing them to feel the weight and urgency of a firefighter's job. In the VR firefighter experience, citizens participated in virtual fire suppression and rescue activities, experiencing the duties of a firefighter.
The participating students unanimously agreed that this activity was a valuable opportunity to promote fire safety.
The Department of Fire Safety Management at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology plans to continue various activities that contribute to the local community.
