Preparation of Basic Data for Building MICE City Brand
Goyang Special City held the 'Goyang City MICE Survey Service Kick-off Meeting' on the 11th and is taking a commemorative photo afterward. Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 14th that it held the 'Goyang City MICE Survey Service Kick-off Meeting' on the 11th at the Small Conference Room of the Waterworks and Sewerage Office, attended by related department officials and experts.
This service was conducted to derive policies to foster Goyang City's MICE industry and to prepare basic data for establishing the city brand as a MICE destination.
Through this service, the city plans to identify MICE events held within the jurisdiction, build a database, and analyze visitor satisfaction and characteristics.
The service will be carried out by the Korea Data Research Institute over three months until December this year.

The kick-off meeting was attended by Goyang City Council member Shin In-seon, as well as experts including the director of the Kintex and Goyang Convention Bureau secretariat, and academic society officials, who presented various opinions on the current status of MICE events, visitor satisfaction survey methods, differentiation of survey content by target group, and key information to be identified.
The city plans to fully reflect the presented opinions in the service content to establish practical policies for revitalizing the MICE industry.
A city official said, “Through this service, we will strive to identify the strengths and weaknesses of Goyang City as a MICE destination from the participants’ perspective and derive effective policies to foster the MICE industry.”
Meanwhile, the MICE industry refers to a convergence industry that promotes regional economic revitalization through attracting corporate Meetings, Incentive tours, Conventions, Exhibitions & Events.
