The inspection and crackdown team consists of about 30 members, including public officials from the Cheoin, Giheung, and Suji District Health Centers, non-smoking instructors, and non-smoking counselors. The inspection targets are non-smoking areas in public facilities under the National Health Promotion Act such as ▲restaurants ▲indoor sports facilities ▲complex buildings, non-smoking areas in apartment complexes, ▲urban parks ▲subway and bus stops ▲absolute protection zones designated by city ordinances.

The city will strengthen enforcement within 30 meters of the boundaries of kindergartens, daycare centers, and elementary, middle, and high schools, where non-smoking zones have been expanded according to the amendment of the National Health Promotion Act.

The city plans to correct minor violations on the spot, but impose fines on facilities that intentionally and repeatedly violate the rules. If caught smoking in non-smoking areas under the National Health Promotion Act and Yongin Special City ordinances, fines of 100,000 KRW and 50,000 KRW will be imposed respectively.

A health center official said, "We plan to conduct guidance and enforcement of non-smoking areas to prevent indiscriminate secondhand smoke damage."
