Highly Praised for Developing 'Wi-Fi 7 Router'

LG Uplus announced on the 13th that it received the 'Best Wi-Fi Network Operator Award' at the '2024 WBA Industry Awards' held in Paris, France on the 9th (local time).

The 'WBA (Wireless Broadband Alliance)' is a global alliance consisting of wireless network operators, equipment manufacturers, and platform providers worldwide. The 'WBA Industry Awards' is the most prestigious ceremony in the Wi-Fi field and was held during 'Network X,' the world's largest telecommunications expo.

The 'Best Wi-Fi Network Operator Award' is given to companies that showcase innovative Wi-Fi technologies and contribute to the advancement of the global Wi-Fi industry. LG Uplus was recognized for its achievements in developing the next-generation Wi-Fi technology-integrated 'Wi-Fi 7 Router' and its technical capability to provide a stable network to over 5 million subscribers.

LG Uplus's 'Wi-Fi 7 Router,' scheduled for release within the year, is the first domestic device to use the 6 GHz band and 320 MHz bandwidth to realize an ultra-high-speed, ultra-low-latency network environment. It features 4K-QAM technology, which supports transmitting more data at once, offering improved data transmission speeds compared to existing networks. Users can experience speeds up to four times faster than before.

Additionally, LG Uplus manages Wi-Fi quality through an AI-based Wi-Fi management solution. This solution uses AI to detect and improve causes of inconvenience experienced by users suffering from poor wireless quality.

Going forward, LG Uplus plans to provide seamless Wi-Fi experiences at homes and businesses by utilizing next-generation network technologies such as the Wi-Fi 7 Router.
