Uijeongbu-si to Host the '2024 Hanmaeum Health Walking Competition'

Mayor Kim Dong-geun is attending the '2024 Hanmaeum Health Walking Competition' held on the 12th and taking a commemorative photo.

Gyeonggi Uijeongbu City (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) held the '2024 Hanmaeum Health Walking Contest' on the 12th at Dongmakgyo Square along Jungnangcheon Stream.

This event was organized by the Uijeongbu City Sports Council and Gyeonggi Ilbo, sponsored by Uijeongbu City, and took place on a course of approximately 4 km starting from the Dongmakgyo Inline Plaza and turning back at the riverside plaza near Geonyeong Apartments in Howon-dong.

The contest began with a spectacular performance by the Uijeongbu City Taekwondo Demonstration Team, and about 10,000 citizens participated, sharing a meaningful time to pledge health and harmony. After the walk ended, various post-event performances such as the Kim Nayoung Dance Troupe, belly dance, and singer Jung Da-woon entertained the citizens.

Additionally, participants who completed the course were given souvenirs, and a variety of prizes including kimchi refrigerators, light-emitting diode (LED) TVs, and health checkup vouchers were provided through a raffle, adding excitement to the event.

Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “I hope this Hanmaeum Health Walking Contest served as an opportunity for citizens to unite as one,” and added, “We will continue to strive to make Uijeongbu City a city good for walking.”
