Namyangju City Holds Exchange Agreement Ceremony for Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Brand Joo Gwang-deok, Mayor of Namyangju City (center), is conducting the 'Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Brand Exchange Business Agreement Ceremony' with Lee Kang-deok, Mayor of Pohang, and the Deputy Governor of Gangjin at the Jeong Yak-yong Historic Site on the 11th, ahead of the opening of the 38th Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Cultural Festival.

Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) held a 'Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Brand Exchange Business Agreement Ceremony' at the Jeong Yak-yong Historic Site on the 11th, ahead of the opening of the 38th Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Cultural Festival, together with Pohang City (Mayor Lee Kang-deok) and Gangjin County (County Governor Kang Jin-won).


This agreement was promoted to jointly develop cultural and tourism content centered on the Dasan Jeong Yak-yong brand by Pohang City and Gangjin County, which share historical ties as exile sites of Dasan Jeong Yak-yong, and to revitalize the local economy through this collaboration.


The ceremony was held with key figures including Namyangju Mayor Joo Gwang-deok, Pohang Mayor, and Gangjin Deputy County Governor in attendance, proceeding in the order of △ explanation of the purpose of the agreement △ commemorative speeches △ signing and mutual exchange of the agreement △ commemorative photo session.


With this, the three local governments plan to jointly promote various projects that reinterpret the legacy of Dasan Jeong Yak-yong in a modern way and activate tourism and cultural exchange programs to attract domestic and international visitors.


In particular, through △ development of cultural and industrial content △ joint development and promotion of tourism content △ development of cultural exchange programs △ activation of research and academic exchanges that reflect the heritage of Dasan Jeong Yak-yong and the characteristics of each region, the three areas aim to foster mutual development and establish a sustainable cooperative relationship.


Mayor Joo Gwang-deok stated, “Based on the legacy and spirit of Dasan Jeong Yak-yong, I hope that each region will cooperate for mutual growth so that the Dasan Jeong Yak-yong brand can spread further,” adding, “Through this agreement, all three cities will create a new turning point for the development of culture and economy.”
