Namyangju-si, Pyeongnae·Hopyeong 'Parent Future Education Community' Academy Successfully Concluded

Namyangju-si, Pyeongnae·Hopyeong 'Parent Future Education Community' Academy Successfully Concluded Joo Gwang-deok, Mayor of Namyangju City, is conducting the 'Future Education Community Academy' on the 10th at a cafe located in Hopyeong-dong for about 40 executive members of parent associations from 15 elementary, middle, and high schools in the Pyeongnae and Hopyeong areas.

Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 11th that it held the ‘Future Education Community Academy’ on the 10th at a cafe located in Hopyeong-dong for about 40 executive members of parent associations from 15 elementary, middle, and high schools in the Pyeongnae and Hopyeong areas.

This academy was organized to activate the local parent network and strengthen parents’ capabilities to respond more effectively to their children’s education.

The academy proceeded in the order of △ introduction of participants by school △ guidance on Namyangju City’s education projects △ Human Book special lecture (flower tea sommelier) △ empathy talk on child education.

First, the city provided a comprehensive briefing on education projects and resolved parents’ questions about education policies through a Q&A session between officials and parents, allowing time for sharing opinions with parents from other schools.

Additionally, the education community enjoyed a healing time during the Human Book special lecture by learning about the benefits of flower tea and blending flower tea themselves.

Following this, Mayor Joo Gwang-deok attended the academy and held an empathy talk with parents on the topic of ‘The Importance of Parent Education,’ spending a Q&A session to listen to the city’s education project directions and parents’ opinions.

Mayor Joo emphasized, “There is only a thin line between a harsh parent and a learning parent,” and added, “I urge parents to be those who look far ahead, walk together, and dream together rather than those who only look forward, rush ahead, and do not allow time to dream.”

One parent said, “I think I have been forcing my child to live without dreams and leisure just as I lost mine,” and added, “Just as dreaming parents are needed for dreaming children, this was an opportunity to rethink the importance of the parental role.”

The city plans to conclude this year’s regional Future Education Community Academy for parents by the end of this month in Jinjeop and next month in Jingeon, Toegyewon, and Geumgok areas.
