Operating Cheongju Airport Store Under Another Name to Fraudulently Evade Rent
Abnormal Transactions Revealed by Airport Corporation Inspection
The Cheongju District Prosecutors' Office announced on the 11th that it has arrested the operator of a tenant business at Cheongju Airport on charges including fraud for embezzling rental fees.

Mr. A is accused of operating four stores within Cheongju Airport under other people's names and embezzling approximately 3 billion KRW in rental fees. Cheongju Airport sets rental fees linked to sales rather than fixed rents, and Mr. A is reported to have underpaid rent by omitting sales figures.
Currently, a total of eight commercial stores are operating at Cheongju Airport, and the business in question is said to have entered the airport around 2020.
This case began when the airport corporation discovered suspicious transactions during store inspections, leading to a request for investigation by the prosecution.
