After 12 Hours of Moon Dahye's Drunk Driving Report Criticism... National Police Chief Says "It Happened Coincidentally" [2024 National Audit]

Assemblyman Yoon Geon-young: "If We Lose Public Trust, There Will Be No Police"

Police Chief Jo Ji-ho stated on the 11th that the reports of drunk driving involving Moon Da-hye, the daughter of former President Moon Jae-in, were made 12 hours later, and the senior administrative officer of the Presidential Office was reported 40 days later, adding, "It happened coincidentally like that."

On the same day, during the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee audit, Jo responded this way when Yoon Gun-young, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, pointed out the political neutrality of the police.

When asked whether the police might have leaked misconduct facts because it involved a former president, Jo said, "That's nonsense."

Rep. Yoon mentioned investigations into First Lady Kim Keon-hee and former 1st Marine Division Commander Lim Seong-geun, stating, "If the public loses trust, there is no police. I am worried because the current police seem to be leaning towards power."

Jo said, "I take Rep. Yoon's inquiry very seriously," and added, "The police must look to the people. I will make a promise starting with myself."
