Allegations of Interference in Jeon-Dae Polls Raised by Na Kyung-won... Lee Jun-seok Brings Up 'Dermatology'

Na "Strange Poll... Heard Talk of Myung Taekyun's Involvement"
Lee "Early Symptoms of Election Fraud Theorists"

People Power Party lawmaker Na Kyung-won raised suspicions that Myung Tae-kyun, a key figure in the allegations of First Lady Kim Kun-hee's 'nomination interference,' may have intervened in the past People Power Party leadership election, to which Reform New Party lawmaker Lee Jun-seok responded by calling it an "early symptom of becoming a false election theorist."

On the 11th, Na lawmaker said on her Facebook, "The 2021 Seoul mayoral primary with candidate Oh Se-hoon and the 2021 leadership election with candidate Lee Jun-seok were a series of unexpected phenomena." She added, "I only heard later that Mr. Myung was involved," and said, "The second primary with candidate Oh Se-hoon was suddenly conducted 100% by opinion polls. I was overwhelmingly first in the early stages of the Seoul mayoral race and in the first primary, but I ultimately lost overwhelmingly."

Na also expressed suspicion about the polling agency related to Mr. Myung conducting as many as seven opinion polls. She said, "It was unprecedented to have so many opinion polls during the leadership election period," and added, "The first opinion poll where candidate Lee Jun-seok beat me was released by that polling agency, and subsequent polls and articles rolled up Lee Jun-seok's support like a snowball. The May 22, 2021 poll had a response rate of 3.3%, but it was sampled in just 1 hour and 50 minutes, which is quite puzzling, isn't it?"

Regarding this, Lee lawmaker strongly rebutted on his Facebook, saying, "You lost the leadership election and have wanted to say these things for three years. You want to claim election fraud but cannot point out any specific problems, so you just list superficial content and make a fuss."

In response to Lee's claim, Na lawmaker countered, "I am talking about abnormal opinion polls that occurred before the election, not election fraud." She said, "They are dismissing suspicions about Myung Tae-kyun's polls as election fraud theories. Check the polling time of just a few hours, the skewed gender ratio, and the response rate around 3%. Haven't you really never discussed anything about the polls with Mr. Myung Tae-kyun beforehand?"

Lee lawmaker said, "Of course, opinion polls are a technique, and companies that design them accurately are better, and money matters because increasing the sample size reduces error. Just tell me which poll on what date was wrong, who conducted it, and why. Elections always have many people throwing tantrums," he said sharply.

He then made a remark reminiscent of the '100 million won dermatology' scandal during the 2011 Seoul mayoral by-election, which dealt a major political blow to Na lawmaker. Lee said, "In dermatology, doctors with good skills using expensive machines provide high-quality service. That's why wealthy people go to Cheongdam-dong for such places. Meet with President Myung Tae-kyun and specifically reveal what Na Kyung-won said. Didn't you lie to the media that you never met and then correct yourself?"
