Busan City will host the ‘2024 Fall YOLO Galmaetgil Walking Event’ from the 11th to December 8th.

The ‘YOLO Galmaetgil Walking Event’ is organized under the theme ‘Let’s enjoy and walk the YOLO Galmaetgil together for citizens and domestic and international tourists alike,’ aiming to widely promote the charm of Busan’s Galmaetgil by linking walking with tourism.

This walking event consists of six diverse walking programs: ▲YOLO Galmaetgil Walking ▲Regular Galmaetgil ▲Moonlight Galmaetgil Walking ▲Walking Galmaetgil Together ▲Galmaetgil Expedition ▲Galmaetgil Invitation Exploration Tour (Fam Tour).

In particular, the Galmaetgil Invitation Exploration Tour (Fam Tour) will be operated for citizens in the Seoul metropolitan area to promote the nationwide spread of Galmaetgil walking.

To ensure that all participants, including those with walking difficulties, can enjoy a safe and convenient Galmaetgil walking journey, professionally trained trekking guides will accompany the event.

Any citizen interested in walking can participate free of charge. Applications are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through the city’s Galmaetgil website.

For further details, please contact the Galmaetgil Walking Together Secretariat.

The opening ceremony, marking the start of the event, will be held at 10 a.m. on the 11th at Hwamyeong Ecological Park. In line with the spirit of walking together, about 300 people, including those with walking difficulties and YOLO Galmaetgil participants, will attend. The event will begin with the entry of the flag-bearing team, welcome and congratulatory speeches, a flag handover ceremony, and a commemorative photo session.

After the opening ceremony, participants will join the YOLO Galmaetgil Course 10 (Geumjeongsanseong Outing) walk, enjoying the cool and clear autumn atmosphere and experiencing the charm of Galmaetgil.

An Cheolsoo, Director of the Green City Bureau, said, “I hope that Busan’s Galmaetgil will become not only a leisure space for citizens’ health but also a tourist attraction that domestic and international travelers can enjoy.” He added, “We will do our best to make Galmaetgil, Busan’s representative tourism resource, a world-class trail where visitors can enjoy walking, beautiful natural scenery, and local cuisine together.”
