Gyeonggi-do Holds ESG Policy Committee Meeting on the 10th... 11 Members Appointed Gyeonggi Province held the "2024 Gyeonggi Province ESG Policy Committee" at the Gyeonggi R&DB Center on the 10th and appointed 11 committee members.

Gyeonggi Province held the '2024 Gyeonggi Province ESG Policy Committee' at the Gyeonggi R&DB Center on the 10th and appointed 11 committee members.

The ESG Policy Committee is composed of professors, corporate organizations, and civic groups, and will serve for two years until October 2026, reviewing and advising on Gyeonggi Province's ESG policies and supporting the activation of ESG in the province.

ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance. It refers to the environmental, social, and governance factors that measure the sustainability and social impact of companies or investments in companies.

Gyeonggi Province is promoting various support policies to ensure that ESG spreads throughout society, starting with small and medium-sized enterprises.

Park Yeon-gyeong, Director of the Social Innovation Economy Bureau of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "ESG is no longer a choice but an essential standard for our companies and society to move toward a sustainable future," adding, "We expect the ESG Policy Committee to play an active role in spreading ESG within the province."

Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Province established the Social Innovation Economy Bureau, the first dedicated ESG bureau among metropolitan local governments, and enacted ESG ordinances to establish an ESG promotion system.

In particular, it has led ESG policies proactively by institutionalizing ESG disclosures for public institutions, supporting ESG management for small and medium-sized enterprises, and operating ESG leading universities.
