Do-ing Challenge, Experience, Practice: Tongmyong University conducted an on-site study program in Tokyo, Japan, from the 3rd to the 6th, with 32 students participating in the TU-Creator program, to understand the latest trends in international Well-Life startup items.
The students visited HCR 2024, Asia's largest welfare equipment exhibition, where they were able to see a wide range of welfare devices from handmade self-help tools to cutting-edge care robots and welfare vehicles all in one place.
They also visited the Yokohama City Welfare Service Association and the Noda Showroom for Elderly Living Experience, where they participated in hands-on training related to home care services and experienced welfare equipment firsthand.
Additionally, they visited the Tokyo Toy Museum, which was established in collaboration with the local community at the former Yotsuya Dainyon Elementary School, and spent time experiencing and observing educational tools developed for the elderly and children.
The participating students said, "It was a special opportunity to experience a wider world and find ideas for Well-Life-related startup items. In particular, experiencing advanced welfare devices and services helped us to further develop our existing startup ideas."
Jo Mirim, the head professor of TU-Creator, stated, "I hope that the students participating in TU-Creator will grow into global talents and that this experience in Japan will help them develop their entrepreneurial capabilities."
Dongmyung University is conducting the 'Well-Life Global Startup Item Benchmarking' TU-Creator training program in Japan.
