Israel kills Hezbollah commander again... Iran retaliation cabinet vote on the 10th

The Israeli military launched additional attacks targeting Hezbollah's weapons storage facilities in southern Lebanon, while consecutively killing Hezbollah commanders. A specific Iranian retaliation plan is also expected to be decided soon through a cabinet vote.

According to the daily newspaper The Guardian and others, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on the 10th (local time) that they had "eliminated" Ahmad Mustafa Alhaj Ali, the Hezbollah front commander in the Lebanese Hula region, and Muhammad Ali Hamdan, the anti-tank unit commander in the Maysalun area, among others, the previous day. These individuals were responsible for hundreds of missile and anti-tank missile attacks on northern Israeli cities such as Kiryat Shmona. Hezbollah has not officially confirmed this.

At the same time, the Israeli military began new attacks targeting weapons storage facilities beneath civilian buildings in the Dahieh area south of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.

According to Lebanese health authorities, more than 1,500 people have died in Lebanon since Israel launched a ground offensive last month. The United Nations reports that about one-quarter of Lebanon's population has been ordered to evacuate by the Israeli military and is leaving their homes. The number of refugees caused by this is estimated to be around 1.2 million.

Israel is reported to have convened a security cabinet meeting on the same day to vote on response measures to Iran's ballistic missile attacks. This is a measure in accordance with the law that "significant military actions must be approved by a security cabinet vote." Major foreign media outlets report that airstrikes on Iranian military facilities and assassination plans targeting high-ranking officials are likely options. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Joe Biden spoke on the phone the previous day to discuss solutions to the Middle East conflict.
