Completion in June 2027 in Yeonchuk-dong with an Investment of 159.8 Billion Won

The long-awaited construction of the new government office building for the 170,000 residents of Daedeok-gu, Daejeon, is now officially underway.
Daedeok-gu announced that, following the signing of a land purchase agreement with LH on the 8th, it began installing geothermal facilities on the 10th.
The geothermal system will consist of 120 wells, each 300 meters deep, and the district plans to complete the drilling work by the end of the year.
Additionally, the district plans to expand renewable energy facilities such as solar power to establish an eco-friendly building and an energy-saving public office.
Choi Chunggyu, head of Daedeok-gu Office, stated, "Now that the construction of the new government office has begun, we will push forward with speed," adding, "Going forward, we will usher in a new era for Daedeok by linking major projects such as the Sindaedong Water Industry Valley, the construction of the Gyeongbu Expressway IC, and the Chungcheong Region Metropolitan Railway around the new office."
Meanwhile, the new government office will be built in the Yeonchuk-dong urban development area (site number 241) with an investment of KRW 159.8 billion. It will have two underground floors and nine above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 48,810 square meters, and is scheduled for completion in June 2027.
