Goryeong-gun Overseas Trade Delegation Achieves Major Success... Signs $3.8 Million Export MOU with Vietnam

Korean Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam Signs MOU for Economic Exchange and Cooperation

The overseas trade delegation from Goryeong County, North Gyeongsang Province, held a local export consultation meeting in Hanoi, Vietnam, one of Korea's top three trading partners, on the 8th.

During the export consultation, there were a total of 44 one-on-one customized meetings with local Vietnamese buyers, resulting in a total consultation amount of $7,086,500 (KRW 9.56 billion). Out of these, 13 MOUs were signed between companies, achieving a result of $3,800,000 (KRW 5.12 billion).


The participating companies included Jisan Tarpaulin, Haewon Industry, ENB Trading, Dasan Cast Iron, Daelim Farms, MS Food, Bap Dallas, SD Corporation, Samjeong Special Rubber, and Nahotech. The group covered a wide range of products such as processed foods, primary metals (automotive parts), tarpaulin, and rubber rolls.


Goryeong County signed a business agreement for economic exchange and cooperation with the Korean Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (KOCHAM, President Hong Sun). The signing ceremony was attended by County Governor Lee Namcheol, county council members Kim Gichang and Seong Nakcheol, Goryeong County Chamber of Commerce President Kim Jongtae, and KOCHAM Vice President Yoon Hwi. The parties agreed to closely cooperate on supporting Goryeong's outstanding companies' entry into Vietnam, joint consulting for excellent local products and agricultural foods, and human resource exchange.


Additionally, Goryeong County signed a business agreement for export support with K-Market (President Ko Sanggu), the largest Korean food distributor in Vietnam, which operates 136 local stores.


The signing ceremony was held at the K-Market headquarters logistics center and attended by County Governor Lee Namcheol, county council members Kim Gichang and Seong Nakcheol, Goryeong County Chamber of Commerce President Kim Jongtae, and K-Market General Manager Shin Younghwa. Participating companies from the trade delegation, such as MS Food (frozen pizza), Bap Dallas (seaweed), and ENB Trading (fresh food, etc.), held product promotion and tasting events.


Through the agreement, both parties agreed to cooperate in expanding exports and revitalizing the distribution of Goryeong County's excellent agricultural and processed food products to Vietnam. Established in 2002, K-Market is the largest Korean food distribution company in Vietnam, operating 136 local stores and employing around 1,800 staff.


Furthermore, the delegation visited the Vietnam Foreign Investment Agency to learn about incentives and support for Korean companies entering Vietnam and agreed to receive active support from the agency for Goryeong County companies entering the Vietnamese market.


Governor Lee Namcheol stated, "Through the local export consultation in Vietnam, we have taken a meaningful step in pioneering overseas export channels for our county's outstanding companies. In addition, by signing an export support agreement with K-Market, the largest Korean food distributor in Vietnam, we will actively support the global market entry of Goryeong County's K-Food, including local agricultural and processed food products."
