Yangju City Operates Magamicheon Landscape Lighting... Expected Nighttime Attraction

Yangju City Operates Magamicheon Landscape Lighting... Expected Nighttime Attraction Yangju City Hall.

Gyeonggi Yangju City (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 10th that it has completed the installation and operation of landscape lighting on the Magaemi Stream bridges within the Hoecheon District, area 920, Deokgye-dong, on the 8th.

This project invested 140 million KRW in three Magaemi Stream bridges (two vehicular bridges and one pedestrian overpass).

Magaemi Stream is a space frequently visited by local residents for walking and cycling, and the upper area is densely populated with apartments and commercial buildings.

The city plans to create various colored lighting effects on the ceiling under the bridges and operate line lighting on the bridge walls and railings, providing citizens with unique visual attractions and contributing to the formation of a pleasant urban landscape.

A city official stated, “The landscape lighting will be turned on just before sunset and operated until 11 PM when pedestrian traffic decreases, after which it will be turned off. Until sunrise the next day, ambient lighting will remain on to ensure citizens' safety at night.”

Mayor Kang Su-hyun said, “We hope the Magaemi Stream landscape lighting will become a symbol of the Hoecheon District and transform into an urban resting space where citizens can enjoy the nighttime scenery and find healing.”
