On the 24th, the Criminal Division 5 of the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Park Ji-hoon) announced that they have indicted Jeon Gwang-hoon, advisor to the leader of the Liberty Unification Party, without detention on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act and the Political Funds Act.

Pastor Jeon is accused of receiving and demanding money related to the recommendation of proportional representation candidates for the Liberty Unification Party in the last general election, and despite being restricted from election campaigning due to loss of voting rights, he allegedly conducted illegal election campaigning through rallies in Gwanghwamun. It has been confirmed that he provided money to reporters attending the press conference.

A prosecution official stated, "We plan to respond strictly to election crimes that undermine the fairness of elections," adding, "We will make every effort to ensure that a sentence commensurate with the defendant's crimes is imposed during the prosecution."
