The meeting temple stay program 'I am at the temple' is scheduled to be held this time at Baekyangsa Temple in Jangseong, Jeollanam-do. It is targeted at unmarried men and women in their 30s.

The Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism Social Welfare Foundation announced on the 8th, "This 'I am at the temple' will take place from November 2 to 3 for one night and two days at Baekyangsa Temple, which is beautiful with autumn foliage," adding, "We hope participants will be enchanted by the autumn leaves, enjoy the temple food once again, and meet good new connections."


The event is open to 10 unmarried men and 10 unmarried women aged 30 to 39. The application period is from the 14th to 2 p.m. on the 18th. Applications can be submitted through the official website and Instagram of the Jogye Order Welfare Foundation, and the selected participants will be announced via phone guidance starting at 3 p.m. on the 23rd.


Baekyangsa Temple is located in Naejangsan, Jeollanam-do, and is also famous as a spot for autumn foliage. It is also a representative training center in the Honam region, where the teachings of the modern Korean Buddhist masters Manam Daejongsa and Seoung Daejongsa are enshrined.


The Welfare Foundation explained, "Baekyangsa is where the temple food master Jeonggwan Seunim, who is dedicated to globalizing temple cuisine, resides," and added, "There will also be a program where participants can directly experience and taste temple food at Cheonjinaam Hermitage in Baekyangsa."

Meanwhile, 'I am at the temple' is conducted in cooperation between the Jogye Order and the Ministry of Health and Welfare to overcome the low birthrate issue. This year, it has been held at Jeondeungsa Temple in Ganghwa, Incheon; the Korean Cultural Training Center in Gongju, Chungnam; Naksansa Temple in Yangyang, Gangwon; and Hwagyesa Temple in Seoul. Notably, in the special edition 'I am at the temple, Hwagyesa,' targeted at unmarried men and women in their 40s, four couples were formed.


The 20 participants, 10 men and 10 women, selected for this 'I am at the temple, Baekyangsa' edition will have the opportunity to find connections through various programs during the one night and two days schedule, including a pilgrimage to Baekyangsan, temple food experience with Jeonggwan Seunim, education to improve awareness of low birthrate response, recreation, and one-on-one rotation tea talks.
