A child attending a kindergarten in China fell from a window and, upon waking up, claimed, "The teacher pushed me," causing a stir.
On the 8th (local time), Xiaoxiang Morning News reported on the incident experienced by Mr. Hu's child, who lives in Jiangxi Province, China. Mr. Hu stated that his 4-year-old son, Chaochao (pseudonym), fell from a closed room window on the second floor of the kindergarten to the outdoor concrete floor on the first floor, a drop of about 4 to 5 meters, on the morning of the 30th of last month. Mr. Hu told the media, "Chaochao sustained multiple injuries including left lung hemorrhage, spinal fractures, and soft tissue damage. Initially, his condition was very serious, and the hospital said he was in critical condition, but fortunately, he has been recovering well. He is currently out of danger."
However, after regaining consciousness, Chaochao shocked everyone by claiming, "The teacher pushed me off." The child recalled, "While standing in punishment in front of the door, the teacher was watching me. The teacher said, 'I'll give you a chance,' then locked me in the kindergarten's closed room and told me to go down through the window. When I didn't comply, the teacher grabbed my hand and pushed me." When Mr. Hu asked, "Did the teacher hold your hand and do that?" the child replied, "Yes. Then I fell." Mr. Hu released a recording of the child's statement and said, "I believe this happened due to the kindergarten's negligence in management." He also added, "The fence installed in the kindergarten classroom is over 1.7 meters high, making it very difficult for a young child to climb up alone."
The kindergarten explained that the child was punished on the day of the incident because "he ate an extra piece of pear." They also stated they would cover all medical expenses and requested a settlement for compensation. However, Mr. Hu questioned, "How can they talk about compensation without knowing the exact details of the incident?" It is known that the closed-circuit television (CCTV) in the closed room was damaged and could not be reviewed. Local police investigating the case said, "We will thoroughly investigate whether any other children were injured." Currently, the kindergarten has been temporarily closed, and the students will be reassigned to other kindergartens.
Netizens who learned about the incident responded with comments such as, "If it is true that such a thing was done to a 4-year-old child, the teacher should be severely punished," "Thinking about if it happened to my child makes my blood run cold," and "This person is not qualified to be a kindergarten teacher."
