"Today, I am a Fashion Model!”... Jungnang-gu Hosts Seoul's First Fashion Show for Adults with Developmental Disabilities

"Today, I am a Fashion Model!”... Jungnang-gu Hosts Seoul's First Fashion Show for Adults with Developmental Disabilities

Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) held an adult developmental disability fashion show, "Close-T," at the Jungnang Art Center on the 8th.

This event was the first developmental disability fashion show hosted by a Seoul autonomous district, and it is the first case nationwide where people with developmental disabilities directly made the clothes and participated as models.

Participants from the Jungnang-gu Lifelong Education Center for People with Developmental Disabilities took the stage wearing outfits themed around "Jungnang," such as roses, pear blossoms, and magpies, receiving great applause.

Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, "I am pleased to see a wonderful fashion show that fits the purpose of 'breaking prejudices against people with disabilities,'" and added, "We will continue to support residents in expressing themselves in diverse ways."

As another event of the Jungnang Together Fashion Week, the district will hold a "Disability Empathy Planning Exhibition." It will take place from the 14th to the 23rd, and various works, including the fashion show outfits, will be displayed in the lobby on the first floor of the district office.
