Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) has launched a special autumn season for residents by hosting a fall festival full of various themes and abundant attractions in harmony with nature.
The Sacred Site of Goryeo Historical Culture, the Setting of KBS Drama ‘Goryeo-Khitan War’ ? ‘Gwanak-gu History and Culture Festival’
Gwanak-gu’s largest and representative historical and cultural festival, the ‘2024 Gwanak Gang Gam-chan Festival,’ will be held under the theme ‘Gang Gam-chan Feast’ from the 11th to the 13th at Nakseongdae Park.
The Gang Gam-chan Festival is a long-standing historical and cultural festival, recognized as one of the 20 preliminary cultural tourism festivals by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the only one in Seoul among over 1,200 festivals nationwide.
On the 11th, the festival opens with the ‘General Gang Gam-chan Memorial Ceremony’ to honor the spirit of patriotism and his great achievements. From the 12th, various programs suitable for all ages will be operated, including experience booths full of village characteristics, tactical and strategic experiences from the KBS drama ‘Goryeo-Khitan War,’ and Gwanakjeong archery experiences.
Inspired by the Goryeo-era market ‘Bangsi,’ a food festival called ‘Goryeo Market’ linked with various commercial districts such as Sharosugil will be held, along with free street art performances called ‘Goryeo Nanjang.’
Special guests will also be invited to this festival. On the 12th, the ‘Gang Gam-chan Song Festival’ with the queen of trot, Jang Yoon-jung, will take place, and on the 13th, the ‘Gang Gam-chan Talk Show’ with star teacher Choi Tae-sung and Professor Seo Kyung-duk, as well as the E-sports folk game ‘Champion King Gang Gam-chan StarCraft Tournament’ with KBS drama Goryeo-Khitan War actress Lee Si-ah, will be held.

On the 19th, the ‘Naknakbyeolgil’ festival will be held in the Nakseongdaebyeolgil alley commercial district area.
‘Naknakbyeolgil’ is being held for the second time this year to increase sales for small business owners and revitalize the local economy. The district will prepare even richer food and entertainment by linking with the nearby Inheon Market.
▲ ‘Naknakbyeolgil Pocha’ where visitors can enjoy food from Inheon Market and alleyway restaurants outdoors ▲ ‘Naknakbyeolgil Playground’ featuring retro games, experience booths, and photo zones ▲ ‘Naknakbyeolgil Stage’ with street karaoke open to all and performances by artists of various genres ? these diverse programs will be operated together by local residents and merchants.
On November 11th, the ‘4th Gwanak Starlight Walk’ will be held along the Byeolbitnaerincheon from Sinlimgyo to Bongrimgyo. A starlight street will be created using various themed lighting centered around the Byeolbitnaerincheon commercial district, romantically coloring the autumn night.
In addition, resident-led festivals that highlight the unique personalities of each village will be held in various locations.

Notably, on the 5th, the ‘Moonlight Festival’ was held at ‘Sinwon Market’ and the ‘Chrysanthemum Garden’ area of Byeolbitnaerincheon to revitalize the local commercial district, where residents enjoyed various experiences and food while feeling the deepening autumn atmosphere.
Meanwhile, the ‘Chrysanthemum Garden’ is a newly created Gwanak-gu landmark along Byeolbitnaerincheon, where residents can feel the seasonal changes close to nature, heal, and visit local commercial districts.
Autumn ‘Gwanak-gu Family Festival’ to Enjoy Together with the Whole Family
On the 12th, ‘Reading Day’ will be held at Euddeum Park near Gwanaksan Station for families, friends, and couples to enjoy together.
In celebration of autumn, it will be operated as an ‘Outdoor Library’ to allow visitors to feel healing in the city while gazing at Gwanaksan dressed in new seasonal clothes. Various attractions such as a live drawing show by artist Hong Won-pyo and children’s family theater performances will be prepared, along with various book-related experience programs like traditional knot bookmark making and book perfume making.
On the 19th, the ‘Gwanak-gu Infant Forest Family Festival’ will be held around the Cheongryongsan Infant Forest Experience Center, where the whole family can deeply feel the autumn atmosphere in nature.
Under the theme ‘Let’s Play with Haechi in the Forest Garden!’ various programs in four fields ? forest experience, garden culture, climate change, and eco-friendliness ? will be offered.
On the 27th, the ‘Gwanaksan Autumn Forest Expedition & Small Forest Concert’ will be held around the Gwanaksan Camping Forest area.
The whole family can enjoy forest experiences together, and performances by popera group ‘Poet,’ string quartet ‘Seogyeong Society,’ and Gwanak youth band ‘Dotori’ will provide comfortable music themed on autumn, allowing visitors to feel small moments of happiness.
‘Gwanak-gu Youth Festival’ to Spread Youth Dreams and Hopes as Clear and High as the Autumn Sky
On the 25th and 26th, the Gwanak Youth Festival ‘3rd Cheong-A-Jul: Stage Up and Jump with Titan’ will be held at Nakseongdae Park.
The Gwanak Youth Festival is an event planned and participated in directly by youth, and since 2022, it has attracted a cumulative audience of about 10,000 people, becoming a representative youth cultural event in Gwanak-gu with great popularity among residents.
This year, the stage will be centered around a youth club competition to allow young people to widely showcase their dreams and talents. In particular, a robot Titan performance and a special dance performance by the team ‘Proudman’ are also prepared.
Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “Gwanak-gu is rich in natural resources such as Gwanaksan and Byeolbitnaerincheon, so residents will be able to deeply feel the arrival of autumn,” adding, “We have prepared various festivals to fully enjoy the deepening autumn, and we ask for the residents’ great interest and participation.”
