Samsung C&T Construction Division announced on the 9th that it has launched a commercial building platform called 'Bynd.'

Bynd is a compound word combining 'Bind,' meaning connection, and 'Beyond,' signifying innovation in spatial experience. Utilizing digital technologies such as generative artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and cloud computing, it connects and freely integrates the building’s infrastructure, facilities, electronic devices, and the entire system that constitutes the building. Based on this, it implements a single platform offering necessary services to various users including employees, visitors, and facility managers. It can be accessed through various interfaces such as a dedicated mobile application (app), digital twin kiosks, and web portals.

It provides about 100 services including work environment monitoring, smart access control, seat or meeting room reservations, and ordering and payment at retail stores within the building. Visitors can complete everything from building entry to parking registration in a one-stop process using a single QR code sent in advance. Notifications of visits and automatic activation of lighting and heating/cooling before meetings are also included. General users can easily control electronic devices such as lighting and air conditioning, call elevators, and reserve meeting rooms or shared seats. Functions for checking rental status and making payments are also provided.

The platform also includes functions to control and manage the building based on digital twin technology. Administrators can monitor and actively control facilities such as fire safety, electrical and lighting systems, as well as building energy and internal/external environments in real time.

Samsung C&T plans to continuously expand functions and services through ongoing partnerships with various companies. Following a generative AI business cooperation agreement with Team Naver, it is collaborating with AWS Korea, Megazone Cloud, and Akara Life across all stages. Combining the interior design capabilities of Ajou Design Group, a building interior specialist company, they aim to strengthen their position in the smart building market.

Following the home platform 'Homenic' launched last year, Samsung C&T plans to steadily expand its soft business domain with this new building platform, continuing various business strategies to go beyond the construction-centered business area.

Jo Hye-jung, Head of the DxP Business Division, said, "Bynd’s goal is to innovate the spatial experience of modern people who spend long hours and engage in various activities within buildings. By continuously expanding our business scope from physical spaces to digital spaces, we will lead a new dimension of spatial evolution."
