Hwaseong-si Hosts 'Resident Autonomy Communication Festival'

800 Residents' Autonomy Committee Members from 29 Eup, Myeon, and Dong Attend

On the 9th, Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province held the '2024 Resident Autonomy Communication Festival' at Songsan Sports Park, attended by about 800 resident autonomy committee members from 29 eup, myeon, and dong.

The event was held to promote the revitalization of resident autonomy through the harmony of resident autonomy committee members and to mark the beginning of the leap to a special city launching next year. The event proceeded in the order of ▲Opening Ceremony ▲Presentation of Appreciation Plaques ▲Large Banner Unveiling embodying the city's aspiration to leap to a special city ▲Harmony Festival ▲Talent Show of eup, myeon, and dong. The Resident Autonomy Council presented appreciation plaques to Jeong Myeong-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong, Bae Jeong-su, Chairperson of Hwaseong City Council, and members of the National Assembly on this day.

Kim Ji-gyu, Chairperson of the Hwaseong Resident Autonomy Council, said, "I hope that through the Communication Festival, all resident autonomy committee members will unite and that it will be an opportunity to approach resident autonomy created by the power of special city citizens more closely."

Mayor Jeong said, "Hwaseong City was recognized for achievements such as the stable establishment of Hwaseong-type resident autonomy meetings this year and received the grand prize in the autonomous administration category at the 'National Sympathy Campaign.' I ask for the active participation of resident autonomy committee members for a more livable and better working Hwaseong Special City."
