Wearing Jjimjilbang Clothes, Rambling 'Abnormal Behavior'
Drug Rapid Test Shows Positive for Philopon
A man who exhibited strange behavior, such as saying he smelled alcohol after drinking a beverage in a convenience store, was caught by the police. A rapid drug test showed a positive reaction for methamphetamine.
On the 9th, the Yangju Police Station in Gyeonggi Province reported that a man in his 40s, Mr. A, showed abnormal behavior at a convenience store in Yangju City around 4 p.m. on the 9th of last month. In the released footage, Mr. A, dressed in jjimjilbang clothes, appears uncomfortable as he lowers his head and staggers toward the convenience store refrigerator. He then sits down on the floor smiling, opens the refrigerator door, takes out a bottle of beverage, and stares blankly into the air for a while.
Afterward, Mr. A gathered four bottles of beverages and stood up, heading to the cashier. As soon as he finished paying, he drank the beverage straight from the bottle and rambled to the convenience store staff, saying things like "The beverage smells like alcohol." Then he leaned over the counter, gasping for breath. The police, who arrived after a report, suspected intoxication, but Mr. A did not smell of alcohol.
When Mr. A kept complaining of severe thirst to the police, saying "I'm thirsty," the officers, sensing something suspicious, took him to the police station. Even at the station, Mr. A showed abnormal behavior, sitting on a chair with his head drooping toward the floor and shaking. Eventually, the police conducted a rapid drug test, which came back positive for methamphetamine. Mr. A was arrested on the spot on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
During the search of his belongings, it was also revealed that Mr. A had hidden a weapon in the jjimjilbang, leading to additional charges of weapon concealment.
