Naviworks, a leading company in intelligent integrated control and comprehensive tactical training services, participated in the recently concluded "Korea International Defense Industry Exhibition 2024 (KADEX 2024)" on the 6th, showcasing its latest technologies and solutions.

According to industry sources on the 9th, Naviworks has carried out over 200 major projects over the past 25 years, including defense weapons and combat systems, C4I systems, and virtual training systems. Through R&D, the company has secured core technologies such as virtual and augmented reality, artificial intelligence (AI) and big data, digital twin, Internet of Things (IoT), and cloud computing, establishing itself as a comprehensive system integrator in the defense sector.

At KADEX 2024, Naviworks recently introduced two main products: METAIEYES and VTB-X. METAIEYES provides intelligent recognition-based situational awareness and command decision-making functions, supports control functions using a GIS engine, and enables spatial control and analysis through AI and IoT digital twins. Notably, transitioning to a web-based platform has significantly improved user accessibility and UX.

Park Ha-yeon, Executive Director at Naviworks, stated, "The Army and Navy are already utilizing our situational control services," adding, "Although currently limited to specific devices, this upgrade allows operational control situations to be viewed anytime, anywhere via the web without device restrictions."

METAIEYES is applied across various command and control systems, including joint command and control systems, allied command and control systems, and Army tactical command information systems. Through the digital twin control platform, it introduces fault prediction maintenance functions using digital twins of weapon systems. By integrating AI into predictive maintenance, which was traditionally performed through TBM (Time-Based Maintenance) and CBM (Condition-Based Maintenance), it aims to propose efficient maintenance planning and optimized resource management methods.

Naviworks also showcased VTB-X, a Korean synthetic training environment platform. VTB-X is a core software platform that composes the Korean Synthetic Training Environment (STE) through global-scale training simulation software and training management tools. It enables training simulations that replicate actual combat environments, showing how individual soldiers or weapons are utilized. This software supports various scenarios tailored to training objectives through VR (Virtual Reality), MR (Mixed Reality), and XR (Extended Reality) training environments.

In particular, VTB-X leverages AI technology to automatically generate scenarios and enables training execution at any scale through interaction with intelligent agents during training. Additionally, it proposes AI-based after-action reviews and customized curricula for each trainee, setting a new standard for educational training platforms. VTB-X is utilized in various fields, including air tactical training simulators, chemical-biological reconnaissance vehicle simulators, and police XR counter-terrorism training centers.

Executive Director Park said, "In fact, AI learns exemplary operational behaviors for training," adding, "For example, it can suggest proper operational actions infantry should take, such as how to conceal or take cover in certain terrain features or what shooting posture to adopt."
