Busan City Holds 19th Pregnant Women's Day Commemorative Event

Busan City will hold the "19th Pregnant Women's Day Commemorative Event" at Domohon at 3:00 PM on the 10th.

This event is organized to commemorate Pregnant Women's Day (October 10) under the slogan "Precious Life, You Who Embrace the Future." It aims to raise awareness of the importance of caring for pregnant women in the era of low birth rates and to enhance social interest in pregnancy and childbirth.


The event is hosted by the city and organized by the Busan Branch of the Korea Population, Health and Welfare Association, with about 100 participants including pregnant women and their families.


The event will feature a commemorative ceremony for Pregnant Women's Day, experiential activity booths, a pregnancy and childbirth promotion center, a photo wall, a congratulatory performance, and a special lecture.


Specifically, various programs are prepared, including a knot craft experience, a string quartet performance, and a special lecture on "The Role of Parents in Supporting Healthy Fetal Development."


Lee Sora, Director of the Busan City Health Bureau, said, "We hope this event will help spread a social atmosphere of caring for pregnant women," and added, "We will continue our efforts to overcome the low birth rate and make Busan a city filled with children's laughter."


In celebration of the 19th Pregnant Women's Day, the city received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare for its achievements in promoting maternal and child health projects.


The city was recognized for its contributions to overcoming low birth rates through support for infertile couples and fertility preservation, as well as for promoting maternal and child health by providing free detailed fetal abnormality tests for low-income pregnant women and implementing various related projects.
