2024 Geumcheon-gu Resident Participatory Budget (Resident Cooperation Type) Programs
Introducing 9 Programs Including 'Fitness Up! Healthy Lifestyle Habits'
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it is operating the "Preparing for a Happy Retirement Tomorrow" program targeting middle-aged retired men in their 50s and 60s.
The program includes various activities to promote leisure activities for middle-aged individuals, continuous lectures supporting career changes, and social participation activities to assist those preparing for retirement.
Leisure activity programs include "Geumcheon’s Handmade Kimchi Cook Cook," "Makgeolli Mak Kkeullina!," "Flower Middle-aged Band Project," "Walking into History," and the "ChatGPT Competition." Through diverse activities such as cooking, music, and travel, the program helps middle-aged men participate in the local community.
In the continuous lectures supporting career changes and retirement preparation for middle-aged men, useful information such as how to obtain certifications and employment directions is provided, along with introductions to various occupations.
Lectures on pet behavior instructor, electrician technician, industrial safety engineer, and career counselor have been conducted, and upcoming lectures on energy technician, Korean cuisine chef, forklift and excavator operator certifications are planned.
Additionally, leisure programs such as "Solo Meal Master" Phase 3, "Physical Strength Up! Healthy Lifestyle Habits," and "Please Take Care of the Refrigerator" are also available.
Any middle-aged men aged 40 to 64 residing in Geumcheon-gu or working in Geumcheon-gu who are retired or about to retire can participate in the program. Interested middle-aged men can apply at the Geumcheon 50 Plus Center.
Mayor Yu Seong-hoon said, "I hope this program will be of great help to middle-aged men planning their second life," and added, "We will continue to provide various leisure activities, career support, and social participation programs for middle-aged individuals in the region."
Meanwhile, the "Preparing for a Happy Retirement Tomorrow" program was selected as a 2024 Resident Participation Budget (Resident Governance Type) proposal project, and the Geumcheon 50 Plus Center, an institution supporting middle-aged individuals, is carrying out the project.
