Resident-Led Participation, Care, and Self-Sustaining Safety Net Praised

Damyang County announced on the 8th that the Cheongchon Village Autonomous Association in Gasamunhak-myeon was selected as the grand prize winner in the '2024 Jeonnam Village Community Best Practices.'
The Cheongchon Village Autonomous Association received high marks in the evaluation for residents' proactive participation, the formation of a 'village care' culture where people look out for each other, and the establishment of a self-sustaining village safety net. Along with the grand prize, the highest honor in the Happiness Care category, they will receive a prize of 2 million KRW in project funds.
The Happiness Dream Care Community Support Project is a program that fosters human and material care resources within the village. Cheongchon Village regularly shares residents' opinions and promotes activities such as communal meals for health care addressing the increase of elderly single-person households, health exercise classes, and sharing events.
Kim Jong-wook, head of Cheongchon Village, said, "This award has given great pride to our village and community activities," adding, "We will continue to work even harder to create a joyful and happy village."
