Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, attended the opening ceremony of the Hangeul Calligraphy Exhibition held at Hongdae Red Road Power Plant and Red Road R1 Meeting Square on the afternoon of the 8th.
Hosted by the Mapo Cultural Center and organized by the Hangeul Love Movement Headquarters, this event was planned to commemorate the 578th anniversary of the creation of Hangeul and Hangeul Day 2024, honoring King Sejong's achievements and widely promoting the excellence and beauty of Hangeul.
On this day, Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, awarded certificates to participants who created outstanding works in the 'Meotgeulssi' (calligraphy) contest. Afterwards, he held a calligraphy performance with the awardees to commemorate Hangeul Day, reflecting on the excellence of Hangeul.
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, said, “I am very pleased and honored to be able to widely promote the greatness of Hangeul at Red Road during Hangeul Day week,” adding, “I hope this exhibition will be a time to rediscover the charm of Hangeul that we usually forget.”
