Moon Jin-seok, Democratic Party Lawmaker, "Must Be Punished"
Moon Jin-seok, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, claimed on the 7th during the National Assembly audit that Park Sang-woo, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, acknowledged that companies involved in the 21 Gram and other official residence construction projects committed illegal acts.
At the audit held at the Government Complex Sejong that day, Rep. Moon questioned Minister Park, saying, “According to the Board of Audit and Inspection report, 18 subcontracted companies from 21 Gram were not registered in the construction business category, and allegations including illegal name lending by Wondam Comprehensive Construction were pointed out. Is this a violation of the Framework Act on the Construction Industry and related laws?”
Minister Park responded, “It is an illegal matter involving unlicensed construction and name lending.”
Rep. Moon continued, “In May 2023, then Minister Won Hee-ryong’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport actively cracked down on illegal subcontracting at construction sites, even issuing press releases about it. The audit report clearly revealed violations of the law, so why does Minister Park Sang-woo’s ministry acknowledge the illegality in the official residence construction but fail to take action?”
He also said, “Regarding building violations, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is the competent authority, so it should have taken proactive measures before the Board of Audit and Inspection report was released.”
