Chuncheon-si to Raise Sewerage Fees by 30% Next Year

Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Chuncheon City (Mayor Yuk Dong-han) announced on the 8th that it held a Consumer Policy Committee meeting and deliberated on the sewage fee increase plan to raise sewage fees starting from usage in January 2025, approving the original proposal.

This sewage fee increase plan was carried out to ensure sound financial management of Chuncheon City's sewage facilities, secure funds for facility investment, and establish a sustainable sewage policy.

Following the approval of the increase plan, Chuncheon City will raise sewage fees by 30% each in 2025 and 2026. To this end, the city plans to collect citizens' opinions through a legislative notice from October 24 to November 13, and then submit the proposal to the council meeting scheduled for December.

A Chuncheon City official stated, “We plan to minimize citizen confusion by intensively promoting the sewage fee increase through various media.”
