Gyeonggi Yangju City (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 8th that it will hold the 2024 Yangju City ‘Book Festival’ at Yangjugwanaji on the 20th.

This festival, which includes participation from public libraries, private small libraries, reading clubs, and local bookstores, will be held under the theme ‘Yangju Aeseo (愛書)’ and will feature various events, performances, and experience booths so that citizens can enjoy the festival together through books.

From 1 PM, on the outdoor stage, there will be a pre-event performance of pop opera and an awards ceremony recognizing contributors to the activation of private small library operations. A book picnic area will be set up on the lawn so visitors can enjoy a picnic with books.

From 2 PM to 5 PM, performances such as picture book reading plays, magic shows, and bubble shows will be held, along with more than 20 reading culture experience booths. Additionally, a pop-up store recommending the 2025 Book of the Year theme and exhibitions of private small library activities will provide citizens with various ways to experience reading culture.

Mayor Kang Su-hyun said, “I hope the Book Festival will be an opportunity to reflect on the value of reading and to become closer to books, and that everyone will enjoy a happy time savoring autumn with precious people and books.”
